Our Own Angélicque M. Moreno Named First Latina President of the NYS Academy of Trial Lawyers

We couldn’t be prouder of Angélicque M. Moreno has been selected as the next president of the New York State Academy of Trial Lawyers. After she is sworn in on May 9th in a private ceremony in Brooklyn, Ms. Moreno will become the first person of Latino origin to lead the association.

It’s not the first honor for this trailblazing attorney. Ms. Moreno grew up in the South Bronx, surrounded by family that had emigrated from Puerto Rico. After a cousin was injured during birth as a result of medical malpractice, she witnessed firsthand the emotional and financial effects his injuries had on the entire family. This experience led her to deep-seated passion for working on behalf of victims. Her mission has taken her from the Bronx to Binghamton University, the Northeastern University School of Law in Boston, and then into practice as a zealous advocate for her clients.

Ms. Moreno has been repeatedly recognized as among the best of the best in her profession, having been named multiple times to lists such as the National Top 100 Civil Plaintiff Trial Lawyers and Top Attorneys in New York, and the competitive New York Metro Super Lawyers and Top Women Attorneys rolls. But she is perhaps most proud of being honored with the Brooklyn Women’s Bar Association’s inaugural Amy Wren Award, given by the 100-year-old group to recognize significant service contributions to the Brooklyn community.

Ms. Moreno is excited to be leading the Academy in its 15th year and to bring her unique perspective to its mission to advocate for the civil justice system.

She has never forgotten the lessons of her childhood, and is still a passionate about achieving justice and financial results for her clients. If you need a top trial lawyer or personal injury lawyer, call Avanzino & Moreno at (718) 802-1616 and let us advise you with a free consultation.
